With a new racing schedule in place for 2016, following its live program this Tuesday, December 22nd, Parx Racing will break from its live racing until returning Saturday, February 13th. In addition to the down time, plans will include the installation of a state-of-the-art safety rail around the entire racetrack while the track is closed in January.

The new schedule calls for 154 days of live racing in 2016, and along with the winter break, another short break is planned for August. Additionally, the track has removed several Sundays from the spring calendar and several Sundays as well in the fall.

The new schedule only affects the live racing. The track will continue to offer its full simulcast schedule seven days a week, with top tracks like Santa Anita, Aqueduct and Gulfstream among those carried during the winter season.

The second Fall Festival will return in September following the August break with its centerpiece once again, the tracks two $1 million races, the G1 Cotillion Stakes and the G2 Pennsylvania Derby.
